ANDREA GONZALEZ MERELES director of photography
My name is Andrea Gonzalez Mereles and I'm a narrative cinematographer currently based in the US. My films have been screened in multiple international film festivals; Viena, Zurich, LA Film Festival, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Rhode Island, among others. I've had the support of the prestigious Fulbright Program and the American Film Insitute to develop my career. In 2017, I was selected as a Film Independent's Project Involve Fellow and in 2019 as a Berlinale Talents participant. I'm an active member of the International Collective of Female Cinematographers, Sporas and Apertura. I hold a MFA in Cinematography from the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles. Cinematography is a professional journey I've embarked on but it's also a personal one. My intention is to understand what it means to be a human being; our weaknesses, strengths and doubts, to portray it in my body of work. I believe in filmmaking as a collaborative effort and in story above all. PRESS
